The International Conference "Advanced Materials Week"
The International Conference "Advanced Materials Week" (AMW-2019) is the second of the planned regular conferences. The principal purposes of the conferences is to gather experts in various fields of modern materials science to trace the main achievements and prospects in research and developments of advanced materials for potential use in photonics, optoelectronics and other functional applications

This year, the AMW-2019 consists of three principal events:
• The 5th Japan-Russian Seminar on Advanced Materials: the structure and mechanisms of plasticity of advanced magnesium alloys and related materials
• Section 1: Advanced materials and structures for photonics
• Section 2: Advanced multifunctional materials: alloys, ceramics and composites
The length of the abstract must not exceed one A4 page in Word, including figures, textboxes, footnotes and endnotes.
Deadline for abstract submission is 30.05.2019.
The name of the principal author — the person who has registered as a participant and will present a paper at the Conference — should be marked against the other authors.

Visa information
A foreigner travelling to Russia should have a valid passport (expiry date should be no earlier than 6 months after the date of visitor's departure from Russia) and an appropriate visa (for almost all foreign visitors).
The deadline for the Humanitarian Visa support from the conference organizers is June 30, 2019.
Please fill out the registration form and the following form to receive letter of invitation from conference organizers.
For getting VISA INVITATION DOCUMENT please, prepare a scanned copy of two adjacent pages of your passport which contain your photo, passport number and expiration date. Please note that size of the uploaded file shall not exceed 10Mb.
Extra documents:
Copy of Marriage Certificate (in a case of spouse being accompanying person)
Copy of Residence Permit (in a case of living outside the Country of Nationality)
• Attach the scanned copy to e-mail amweek2019@gmail.com
• Repeat the above steps for all accompanying persons (please DO NOT omit affiliation, position, address and fax of the institution FOR EMPLOYED, STUDENTS and PUPILS).
• Wait for the response from Organizing Committee

NON-EU citizens (and citizens of Denmark, the UK and Ireland)
To get a visa, a visitor has to submit to a Russian Embassy or Consulate "an official letter of invitation from the hosting organization registered with either the Russian Ministry of the Interior with its local offices or the Russian Foreign Ministry with its regional representatives", i.e. issued by the Federal Migration Service - VISA INVITATION DOCUMENT.
Each participant (and accompanying person) will timely get such a Letter if he (she) ticks this option and fills in the data for the visa support letter and uploads a copy of the pages of a passport with photo in the personal account.
Please, apply for a visa as soon as possible after receiving the invitation to ensure that the visa is issued timely. Please note that the process of issuing the official letter of invitation by Federal Migration Service takes about 6 weeks.

The conference will be held in St. Petersburg at ITMO University which campus is located in the heart of the city, 9 Lomonosova st. Saint Petersburg is one of the largest cities in Russia, as well as its cultural capital. The historical center of Saint Petersburg is included in UNESCO World Heritage Sites

Fifth Corner Hotel

Eliseevskiy hotel

Underwood
Art hotel UNDERWOOD is located on the 23, Rubinstein street, which many residents of St. Petersburg called "Dovlatov`s House", as the famous writer Sergei Dovlatov lived in one of the communal apartments of this house for almost 30 years, from 1944 to 1972. The hotel name is connected with the legendary typewriter UNDERWOOD, which Dovlatov used to write their works. The outline of his typewriter can be seen in the sculpture, located right under the windows of our hotel. The hotel guests are greeted by an antique working version of the UNDERWOOD typewriter, despite his advanced age. Breakfasts are not available, but there are kitchens in rooms.
